The available warning does not say whether Wins or horse ownership are preserved or removed. Check both on your account. Avoid making another purchase solely because a visual change looks like lost ownership.
If the result seems unrelated to the warning, note the current values and what you confirmed. A missing-progress report may have another cause.
Inspect your horse before rebuilding
The horse displays distinguish Buy, Claimed and Equipped. Those labels answer different questions: a purchase offer, an ownership or claim state, and the active horse state. Look for Equipped on the horse you intend to use before comparing your training gains.

During active training, watch the progress bar as well as Level and Speed. Step progress can rise within a level while the other values stay unchanged. That pattern does not establish a fixed conversion formula or prove that your Speed display is broken.
